3 Tips for Self Care This Summer

Taking care of yourself is an important part of keeping yourself healthy and happy. We’ve all had a really tough few years, living out a scenario that many of us never could have imagined. As a consequence of the pandemic, many of us have experienced losses – whether that of a loved one, a job, or even just the freedom to move around freely. Things are getting back on track, life is feeling almost back to normal and many things are continuing on as before. But for many of us, we have a deficit especially in the self care department and for that reason I suggest you spend a bit of effort this summer investing in self care. If you’re wanting to get started with self care, keep reading to learn my top 3 tips for self care this summer.

1. Think About Water
If you’re been struggling a bit with depression or a low mood, I find the best cure is water. Whether that’s a hot shower, a long bath, or being by an ocean or a river. For some reason I find water really soothing, and always seek it out as much as I can. The summer months are the best time to find yourself near a beach or a lake, and if you’d like to spend even more time by the water, why not pick up a hobby such as paddleboarding, jet skiing or even kayaking to spend more time doing what you love. In a pinch, a long hot shower can work wonders to freshen you up and make you feel renewed.

2. Go for a Pedicure
Taking care of your feet is an important part of self care, but so many of us forget about them, leaving them covered in socks until they’re really not looking their best. If you can, why not schedule a pedicure once a month – making a new appointment before you leave your current appointment. That way you know you’ll always have an appointment waiting for you, and you can rest assured knowing you’ll have a one to two hour appointment each month where you can relax and be pampered. If your feet aren’t in good condition, you might have to check out Spectrumhealthcare.com to take care of that.

3. Learn to Say No
So often we find ourselves overcommitting socially, especially during the summer month when there are a lot of parties and celebrations. If you find yourself feeling worn out, low in energy and even struggling with anxiety, then one of the best self care things you can do is to say no.

Instead of spending a ton of money partying, why not invest some money into some SUNPAN furniture to transform your outdoor area into an oasis? If you come from a family where it’s encouraged to be pleasers and to say yes, it can be hard learning to set boundaries in a firm but confident way, but it will make a world of difference to how you feel.

Taking care of your mental health, your physical health, and your overall lifestyle is so important. When you’re taking care of yourself you’ll notice your energy improves, that you’re happier, and that you’re living a life you’re really proud of. Check out Scicorp.net to learn more.
