1- Take Care of Its Interiors
For a good start, it is essential to give the interior of your RV a royal cleaning, as well as protect it from exposure to the sun, cleaning the freezer and refrigerator and using baking soda to absorb and eliminate odor.
Ensure the electronics are free of their batteries, the LP-gas supply valve is turned off, and the distribution panel’s main breaker is switched off.
2- Park the RV in the Right Spot

As you approach winter, expanding and bursting your RV pipes is important so that the entire system is completely drained of any content. In full winter, even the smallest amount of water can freeze between the pipes and be a menace.
Before leaving, make a point to flush the sewage system to determine if everything is in perfect condition. For more caution, make sure you are equipped with a sewage disposal kit.
4- Replace the Weatherstripping
Maintaining the RV’s weatherstripping is important so that noise is reduced and all drafts are kept out. Maintaining and replacing the weatherstripping also helps prevent leaks and moisture, hence preventing damage.
Go for weatherstrippings specifically designed for RVs, as standard seals may be unable to withstand the wear and tear caused by frequent travels. The application method of weather strippings depends on what type they are. Some come equipped with self-gripping technology, while others have self-adhesive application systems.
5- Use Antifreeze
The temperatures could potentially drop too low and result in freezing in the water system of your RV. After cleaning and draining your taps and tanks, run antifreeze through the whole system so that no freezing conditions are encouraged.
Pump the antifreeze into the system until the running water changes to pink. Antifreeze also saves you from spending a dime on plumbers for them to help unfreeze your water system.
While prepping your RV for winter, do not forget to conduct routine checkups on the exterior part of the RV. Damages should be handled seriously so that no one’s safety is jeopardized. It is essential to keep the vehicle and engine thoroughly working to experience minimal complications.
