Walnut Launches AI Agents to Make B2B Product Demos More Interactive

B2B software companies have spent years turning product demos into digital alternatives to sales calls. But most demos still follow a predetermined path, leaving buyers to click through whatever story the seller has prepared.

Walnut is taking a different approach. The company has launched two AI agents designed to personalize the buying experience and let prospects interact with products more directly, expanding its platform beyond traditional interactive demos.

Personalization Without the Manual Work

Walnut’s AI Mode for Playlists and Deal Rooms can create a buyer-facing experience from a single prompt. The agent uses the company’s captured product content, information from the buyer’s CRM record and the seller’s stated intent to assemble a personalized playlist or interactive deal room.

That addresses a practical limitation of personalization: the time required to create it. Walnut says building a customized playlist or deal room previously took an account executive or customer success manager roughly three hours per deal.

The company says demo creation has undergone a similar change. Processes that once took days, and later hours, have been reduced to minutes through its demo creation and personalization agents.

The result is intended to make personalized experiences viable beyond a company’s largest accounts.

Giving Buyers a Way to Explore

The second new capability, Walnut Xpert, puts the AI interaction directly in front of the buyer.

Rather than forcing prospects through a fixed sequence, Xpert allows them to ask questions, explore specific areas and find their own way through a Walnut demo. The agent is grounded in the seller’s captured product, allowing its responses to reflect the actual software rather than a generic description.

Walnut says sessions involving Xpert alongside a demo run more than twice as long as sessions without it. The questions themselves can also provide information about buyer intent that traditional engagement metrics, such as clicks and page views, cannot capture.

That changes the potential role of the demo. Instead of simply showing prospects what a product can do, it can also reveal what they want to know about it.

One Foundation for the Buying Journey

Both new agents are built on Walnut’s existing product capture technology, which captures real product screens, flows and data. The same context powers the company’s AI Mode for demos and InsightsAI.

Walnut’s argument is that using one grounded foundation can prevent different AI-generated experiences from telling disconnected stories. A personalized deal room can build on the same product context as the demo, while Walnut Xpert can answer questions based on that same foundation.

“Every company has access to the same frontier models now, so the ability to build features isn’t a competitive advantage anymore. What is: your ability to go to market effectively, tell a coherent story, and create a buyer experience that actually helps your buyer make the informed decision,” said Oren Blank, CEO of Walnut.

Governance Comes First

Walnut has also introduced the AI Center, a governance layer that gives administrators visibility, permissions and guardrails over AI use across their workspace.

The company says the governance infrastructure was introduced ahead of greater agent autonomy so organizations can maintain control over how AI operates. Walnut is also preparing bring-your-own-key support, giving customers control over security, privacy and spending, along with a companion MCP that will allow customers to run the platform through their AI provider of choice.

The AI Center, AI Mode for demos, AI Mode for Playlists and Deal Rooms, and Walnut Xpert are available to Walnut customers today. BYOK support is expected in the coming weeks.

For Walnut, the broader bet is that AI will not simply make product demos faster to build. It can make them more responsive, personalized and useful as buyers increasingly expect to explore software on their own terms.
