Turkey Silent in Response to Report of Israeli Attempt to Reconcile

Turkish officials refused to respond to reports out of Israel that two senior Israeli officials met with Turkish counterparts in Rome three weeks ago in an attempt to resolve the diplomatic crisis between the two countries. Zaman cites an Israeli report that Israel is feeling pressure to mend relations with Turkey ahead of U.S. President Barack Obama's visit to Israel next month, adding that Israel has reportedly been prepared to apologize to Turkey for “operational errors” during its fatal raid on the flotilla to Gaza.
