Transocean asks judge to dismiss some spill-related damage claims

Transocean requested that Judge Carl Barbier dismiss some compensatory damages for the 2010 explosion at the Deepwater Horizon oil rig. The company argued that under the Oil Pollution Act, the company is exempt from claims for oil spilled below the Gulf of Mexico's surface, FuelFix reports.
