Senators defend SEC disclosure rule, say opponents threaten policymaking

Sens. Ben Cardin, D-Md., Carl Levin, D-Mich., and former Sen. Dick Lugar, R-Ind., defended SEC rules that require energy companies to report payments to foreign governments, saying the rule's opponents threaten the ability of Congress to make policy, The Hill reports.
