Report from Cairo that Israel is demanding a 15-year lull in fighting

UPDATED 21:44 PM EST, November 18, 2012

According to reports in Cairo, Israel has demanded a lull for a period of more than 15 years; an immediate cessation of arms smuggling and the transfer of weapons to Gaza; cessation of rocket fire on the part of all armed Palestinian factions; and an end to attacks on soldiers near the Gaza border. Any ceasefire agreement would be guaranteed by Egypt's politicians, headed by President Mohammed Morsi, and backed by Egypt's political echelon as opposed to its security establishment. It's not clear whether or not talks are ongoing or have already collapsed, but according to reports, Israel has threatened a ground excursion if there is no response within 48 to 72 hours, writes Ynet News.
