A Palestinian Authority mayor has accused Israel of trying to bait Palestinian children into maiming themselves by leaving around explosives "shaped like pens and toys." Mustafa Fuqaha, mayor of the Palestinian village of Ein Al-Bayda in the Jordan Valley, emphasized on PA television that the charge constituted "real proof that the Israeli army targets children and young ones." His statements are unlikely to mitigate accusations that Palestinian media outlets, schools, and officials conduct anti-Israel and anti-Jewish incitement in violation of Palestinian peace process commitments.
