NYC weighs options for post-Sandy tree waste

New York City's Environmental Protection Department is developing a plan to either recycle or destroy waste from 15,000 trees felled by Hurricane Sandy. Whatever cannot be given to local companies for recycling will be destroyed in a controlled burn, but the agency said it must act quickly to prevent the debris from decomposing and catching fire, The New York Times reports.
