IAEA Talks On Access To Iran Weapons Facility Fail

Iran will not grant IAEA inspectors access to the country's military facility at Parchin, where it is widely suspected that the Islamic republic conducted work related to the detonation of nuclear warheads, according to VOA. Analyst expectations had been held in abeyance for weeks as limited optimism expressed by Western diplomats, and conveyed by Western media sources, sat uneasily with statements from Tehran minimizing the chances for a breakthrough. It appears that Iranian top officials were relatively prescient when they expressed pessimism regarding the possibility of a deal between the IAEA and themselves. Another round of talks is scheduled for next month.
