Germany to pass legislation to prevent blackouts

The German parliament is set to pass legislation that would require electricity generators to notify the government of plant closures in an attempt to stabilize electric systems and limit blackouts. The country is currently moving toward renewable energy as it phases out nuclear power, Reuters reports.
