FDA should clarify food recall process, communications, GAO finds

A report from the Government Accountability Office finds that the Food and Drug Administration needs to address communication and clarity issues in administering recalls to stem the spread of food-borne illnesses and compensation for businesses affected by flawed recalls. The FDA provided no opinion on the recommendations, but said current actions are addressing the GAO's concerns.
