EPA to clear contaminated soil that damaged Barstow water supply

The Environmental Protection Agency will remove 1,100 tons of perchlorate-laced soil from a former fireworks manufacturing site in Barstow, Calif. The contaminated soil caused a drinking water emergency in Nov. 2010, The Los Angeles Times reports.
