China's State Council said it would increase fuel standards for gasoline and diesel to levels in the Europe and the United States as part of a push to reduce pollution in the nation, The Wall Street Journal reports.
China National Petroleum Corp., China National Offshore Oil Corp. and China Petrochemical Corp., to upgrade refining facilities to meet the standards. The companies didn't respond to requests late Wednesday for comment.
