As Calif. renewable energy sources expand, so will fossil fuel

As California begins to utilize more solar and wind power sources for its power grid, the state will need to expand its use of fossil fuels as backup power sources for plants. The state plans to generate one-third of all its energy by renewable sources by 2020, The Los Angeles Times reports.
