"What I'm working with my colleagues on is staying away from controversial items, and closing tax loopholes," she told reporters. Boxer is working with other progressive senators on their own list of tax break repeals to propose.
She said one example would be a break for companies who move factories overseas.
Reid said he hopes to have a bill ready by the end of this week and a possible vote when the Senate returns to Washington later this month after a week-long recess.
