Better coordination needed in services for students with disabilities, report says

Students with disabilities could have trouble finding out about the myriad government programs designed to help them, and the government needs to better coordinate its efforts across agencies, said a report by the Government Accountability Office.

The investigation looked specifically at programs helping students transition from high school to college or jobs.  The Departments of Education, Labor, Health and Human Services, and the Social Security Administration need to increase their coordination and oversight of the programs, the GAO said.
