2016 politics on display as Congress ends term

WASHINGTON (AP) — For future White House hopefuls, the vote on the "fiscal cliff" compromise could help frame upcoming deliberations over the debt ceiling, reforms to the tax code and how to fund government.

Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan, the Republican Party's 2012 vice presidential nominee, voted for the fiscal cliff compromise this week, while Senate Republicans Marco Rubio of Florida and Rand Paul of Kentucky voted against the measure.
