The agency tasked with overseeing federal employees has had lax computer security, putting at risk a program designed to help federal employees get retirement benefits, said a study by the agency's internal watchdog.
The Office of Personnel Management Office of Inspector General reported that little progress had been made on upgrading security after previous reports found fault with the system.
"Considering the fact that this system will likely need to be replaced in the near future, we are very concerned that the fundamental issues that plagued the prior service credit systems have not been addressed by OPM," the report said.
